What to look for in a Technician?

The technician you choose should have; Certification in Micropigmentation, Certification in Blood Born Pathogens, Makeup Artistry experience, Permit from the Health Department, Permit with the City in which they work, and have Liability Insurance. Ask to see these certifications if they are not displayed. When performing a procedure they should be gloved, have barrier film on all their equipment. Ask to see their before and after pictures to see how good their work is. If your technician lacks any of these credentials do not use them, your health and facial beauty is at risk!

A topical numbing solution is used to minimize any discomfort which in most cases is minimal. Procedures are performed with the most effective topical anesthetics providing numbing of the area.

Am I Too Old For Permanent Cosmetics?

As long as you are over the age of 18, age is not a criterion for determining the appropriateness of a person for permanent cosmetic procedures. North Carolina forbids any tattoing of minors. Many mature clients seek permanent cosmetic procedures. As a woman ages, she may lose part or all of her eyebrows, her vision may have deteriorated to the point where she may be unable to artfully apply her make-up, or she may be physically unable to apply her make-up.

What can I expect after the procedure?

Pigments appear darker, brighter, thicker and unnatural looking in the beginning, and then lighten up 30-50% depending on procedure to a more natural look in approximately 5 weeks. Depending on the area, you may have swelling and redness anywhere from 24-72 hours. Keep the area tattooed moist by applying Vaseline for 5-10 days after the procedure. No eye makeup at all for 7 days.

How long will Permanent Make-Up last?

Many factors influence the longevity of permanent makeup such as the sun, hormones, skincare products, chlorine pools, medications and hydration of the skin. Your permanent makeup can last for several years depending on your skin and how well you care for it. Darker pigment will last longer than lighter pigment. Over time the color will lighten and you may desire to have a touch-up. Coil Machine Cosmetic Tattoos are proven to last longer and produce less swelling.

Are there any precautions I should take before a procedure?

Note: Because health issues may affect the outcome of the permanent cosmetic procedure(s), a Health Questionnaire and Consent are required . In order to save time , it is recommended that the Health Questionnaire be completed prior to your visit. The Procedure Consent form will be signed in the studio at the time of the procedure. Health issues will be discussed prior to the procedure please be honest this is all confidential.

If you have ever had fever blisters, I suggest that you obtain a prescription for Zovirax or Valtrex, or natural Lysine capsules from your physician or health food store and begin taking them two days prior to the procedure (5 days total). Also, to lessen inflammation, Benadryl is recommended the morning before and the evening following the procedure.

What are the Contra-indications for Permanent Make-up?

• pregnancy • clients with high blood pressure conditions (until cleared by their physician)

• clients with implants (until cleared by their physician)

• clients with auto-immune disorders (until cleared by their physician)

• Clients scheduled to undergo a surgical procedure

• Clients with Diabetes, freckles on the lip line, and variegated lips are not good candidates for Lip procedures
